Australian-Irish Heritage Association (AIHA)

Mission and Values

The Australian-Irish Heritage Association is an inclusive organisation which encourages and promotes an awareness of Australia’s Irish heritage. To this end, the Association creates opportunities for all to learn about, participate in and enjoy this distinctive heritage.

IN EVERYTHING IT DOES, THE AIHA IS COMMITTED TO BEING

Non-sectarian * Non-political * Empathically Australian

AND DRAWS INSPIRATION FROM THESE LINES OF WB YEATS:

Cast your minds on other days
That we in coming days may be
Still be indomitable Irishry

Goals of the Australian Irish Heritage Association

To identify and develop sources of Australia’s Irish heritage, contemporary and historical, and to share this  information.

To increase awareness in the wider Australian community of the contribution to Australia made by people of Irish birth or descent

To recognise, celebrate and honour the contributions of groups and individuals to Australia’s Irish heritage.
